Before entering new markets with a new development, it is necessary to conduct research on patent purity in order to exclude violation of other people's patents.
    Conducting research depends not only on the purpose of its conduct, but also on the types of industrial property, the category of intellectual property, etc.

For example, if the study is conducted:

- in relation to inventions, all categories of technical objects are checked - device, method, substance;

- in relation to utility models, only devices that will be supplied to countries where this type of industrial property is protected are checked;

- in relation to industrial designs, the devices are also checked, but without components that are not involved in forming the overall appearance of the product;

- with regard to trademarks, all products with markings on the product itself or on its packaging, as well as all technical and other documentation with the trademark, are checked.

When checking for patentability of devices, it is necessary to take into account their complexity, since they may contain a large number of technical solutions, each of which can be patented.

When checking the patent purity of the methods by which products are manufactured, medicines are manufactured, for example, or the treatment of a particular disease, the method itself is checked. At the same time, patents for a method also protect the product itself, for which independent patents can be issued.

Materials are also checked for patent purity. For example, research is carried out when developing new materials (substances) or new methods for their production and in the event that the material is the object of independent export.

Substances that occur in nature in their natural state are not checked for patent purity, but when they are obtained by synthesis, the method of their preparation is checked.

That is, when checking for the patent purity of substances, the methods of their preparation and use should be checked.

After the examination for patent purity, a Patent Research Report in accordance with GOST R 15.011-96 and a Patent Form in accordance with GOST 15.012-84 are submitted with the signatures of all specialists conducting the research.

In conclusion, I would like to note that since conducting such studies is a rather labor-intensive and responsible process, it is better to entrust their implementation to specialists.
